Panda Power to build $500M gas plant in Temple

Dallas-based Panda Power Funds' affiliate Panda Temple Power LLC has completed financing for a $500 million natural gas power plant in Temple, and plans to start construction immediately.

The new combined-cycle power plant will be fueled by natural gas and will generate 758 megawatts of electricity, Panda said.

This plant could be the largest economic development project in Texas this year, said Charley Ayres, Temple EDC director of business recruitment and expansion.

The plant will be located?
